Langkawi, Malaysia

Langkawi is an archipelago made up of 99 islands on the west coast of Malaysia. DATARAN LANG

The icon of Langkawi, Eagle Square or locally known as Dataran Lang is the home for Langkawi’s giant statue of an eagle which according to old folklore where Langkawi get its name from : The two Malay words – ‘helang’ (eagle) and ‘kawi’ (reddish brown): hence lang-kawi.

UNDERWATER WORLD LANGKAWI

See one of the largest aquariums in Malaysia with a visit to the Langkawi Underwater World. Check out the 4,000 different aquatic species inside the park that's almost six acres big. Learn about the animals as you explore the new sections: Tropical Rainforest, Temperate, and Sub-Antarctic
Go through the gigantic, 15 meter-long tunnel that houses sharks, giant stingrays, groupers, and green turtles.

CHENANG BEACH

If you fly into Langkawi, you can see the full stretch of this magnificent sandy beach below on your right as the aircraft gets close to the island for landing. 

This long beach with its gentle curve is the prettiest beach in the whole of Malaysia. With palms, coconut and other trees fringing the beach, it offers awesome view of the ocean and the islands close by. You can find all kinds of watersport activities from various points along the beach.

DUTY FREE ZONE

The best duty-free outlets in Langkawi are found within the island’s most prominent towns. Langkawi’s duty-free shopping scene is the next best reason to visit after its expansive beaches and verdant mountains.

Great for shopping enthusiasts, these venues stock a wide range of tobacco products, liquors, chocolates, sportswear, luggage, perfumes, and kitchenware, among other items.

LANGKAWI SKY BRIDGE

The Langkawi Sky Bridge is a 125-metre-long curved pedestrian bridge that offers an exhilarating (and sometimes terrifying) view of the verdant Gunung Mat Cincang, the Telaja Tujuh waterfalls, and several islets surrounding Langkawi. 

Set 700 metre above sea level, it's only accessible via the final station of the Langkawi Cable Car.

The first Geopark in South East Asia Region. Kilim Geoforest Park is largely covered by sprawling mangrove forests and limestone rock formations, the main way to explore its beauty is by hopping on our boat rides in Kilim River.
